The following diseases are noteworthy for their harmfulness to the persimmon plant: persimmon grey mold - Botrytis diospyri Borg., persimmon cancer (Phomopsis) - Phomopsis diospyri Rob., persimmon scab - Ragnildiana levieri Vass., anthracnose of persimmon - Colletotrichum kaki Mahhei, verticillium wilt of persimmon - Verticillium diospyri Kleb. The disease control and prevention measures are also given. Ref. 5.
