An experiment was done in 12 weeks to compare the performances of three breeds: Rhode Island Red (Lot No. 1). Australorp (Lot No. II) and Aseel (Lot No. III). Results indicate that Lot No. II was the best followed by Lot No. I and III as a broiler breed in respect to growth rate, feed efficiency and survival. The final body weights were 870.44 gms., 930.83 gms in lot nos. I, II and III respectively. The analysis of variance for body weights showed significant differences only at 8th and 12th weeks of age. Feed efficiency was highest in lot no. II (2.92:1), lowest in lot no. III (3.12:1) and intermediate in lot no. 1 (3.02:1). Analysis of variance for feed efficiencies was insignificant among the treatment lots. Mortality in the experiment were 15.71, 11.42 and 19.35 percent in lot nos. I, II and III respectively, which was statistically insignificant.
