A survey of winged bean diseases in Bangkok, Rayong, Khon kean, Kalasin, Surin ang Nakornrajchasima provinces indicated six diseases were caused by fungi, one by virus, one by mycoplasma and the ninth one by nematode. Leaf spot was caused by Pseudocercospora psophocarpi (Yen). Deighton., collar rot by Sclerotium rolfsii Sacc. and Rhizoctonia sp., wilt by Fusarium sp., anthracnose by Colletotrichum lindemuthianum (Sacc. and Mgn.) Bri. and Cav., flower blight by Choanephora cucurbitarum (Beck and Rae) Thaxt. and pod rot by Diplodia sp. A disease caused by root knot nematode Meloidogyne javanica (Treub) Chitwood and the other caused by virus and mycoplasma developing mosaic and witches' broom symptoms, respectively were noticed
