Raptor migration over Bhamdoun, Lebanon was observed between 20 August and 15 October 1981. 16703 birds were counted belonging to 26 species. Four species (Honey Buzzards 80%, Levant Sparrowhawks 12%, Lesser Spotted Eagles 2%, and Common Buzzards 1%) accounted for 95% of the passage. 75% of all Honey Buzzards counted passed on 5 days. There was a decrease in numbers of individuals and increase in number of species passing as the summer progressed on. Prevailing temperatures appear to have some effect on the routes followed by birds
