The Caribbean Information System for the Agricultural Sciences (CAGRIS) is a network to support agricultural production, research and development by providing timely and relevant information to its users. Its specific goals are: 1. to coordinate the services in national information units, 2. to train Caribbean agricultural information specialists, 3. to develop services for users and 4. to create a depository of research results carried out in the region. The operational structure of the network is based on the AGRIS system whereby participating countries prepare their own input and dissemination of output is handled by a co-ordinating centre. CAGRIS will provide bibliographic data on Caribbean agricultural documents to the international AGRIS database and also information about ongoing research projects to the CARIS database
