Norris, D.M. (Wisconsin Univ., Madison (USA). Entomology and Graduate Neuroscienes)
ألمانية. Chemical prevention or reduction of insect feeding is discussed. Presented aspects include molecular structures, behavioral assays, occurrences of molecules in candidate host plants and animals sensory ultrastructure, neurophysiology, biochemistry and biophysics of chemical perception, encoding of chemical energy states into nerve impulses and insect avoidance behavior, practical usefulness of antifeedants in integrated pest management (IPM) programs and possible future developments. An unique comprehensive presentation of dynamic factual information is attempted. The reader should gain the best possible understanding of the subject, chemical antifeedants. Current knowledge of this subject strongly indicates that significant developments and pratical uses of antifeedants in IPM programs should expand in the near future. Future investigations of insect preceptions of chemicals as antifeedants also should yield significant contributions to the basic understanding of neurobiology and especially information encoding in neurons
