Survey of diseases of some important fruit and vegetable crops of Bangladesh

A total of 181 diseases including 102 diseases on fruits and 79 on vegetables were recorded. Among fruit diseases, 18 were recorded on mango, 11 on banana, 9 on papaya, 6 on pineapple, 10 on jackfruit, 8 on coconut, 6 on guava, 6 on citrus, 6 on litchi, 10 on betelnut, 1 on watermelon, 4 on pomegranate, 1 on each of olive, bullock-heart, cashewnut woodapple and blackberry and 2 on tamarind. Of vegetable diseases, 11 were recorded on potato, 7 on tomato, 6 on each of brinjal, cabbage and cauliflower, 9 on chilli, 4 on each of country bean, onion, lady's finger, cucumber, bittergourd and bottle gourd. 2 on each of radish and snake gourd and 3 on each of sweetgourd and ribbed gourd. Diseases w1114hich occurred with 100% intensity were leaf tip blight of mango, inflorescense die-back and red rust of mango, sigatoka of banana, mosaic of papaya, rhizopus fruit rot of jackfruit, grey leaf spot of coconut, anthracnose of guava, scab and die-back of citrus, yellow mosaic of lady's finger, mosaic of cucumber and alternaria blight of cabbage and cauliflo
