Critical levels of zinc in corn (Zea mays L.) at different stages of growth

Singh, K. | Banerjee, N.K. (Indian Agricultural Research Inst., New Delhi (India))
Considerable variation exists in critical deficiency levels of Zn and index part of corn used for plant analysis. A green-house experiment was, therefore, conducted using a Zn-deficient soil amended with 0, 1.25, 2.5, 5, 10, 20 and 40 ppm Zn to study the critical levels of Zn in corn at three different stages of growth. Critical Zn deficiency level was established at 15 ppm for blade 3 at 6, 8 and 10 weeks sampling periods. Leaf blade 3 is the part of the corn plant which should be sampled for chemical analysis if the cu1419rrent status of soil Zn is des
