The effects of 3 % anhydrous ammonia on the proximate composition and digestibility of peanut hull, soybean hull, rape seed hull and rape staw were investigated with sheep. The content of crude protein was increased 1.9-2.6 times by ammonia treatment. DCP content in peanut hull was increased (p0.05) from 0 to 6.81 %,2048 and in the others increased (p0.01) by 2.5-3.8 times by NH3 treatment. NDF, hemicellulose and lignin contents tended to be lower. However, hemicellulose in peanut hull was not affected and lignin content in soy bean hull was increased from 9.19 to 10.95 % by NH3 treatment. Digestibility of crude protein was improved (p0.01), but digestibility of dry matter and energy was increased significantly in only rape seed hull, Peculiarly, the digestibility of NFE in rape straw was decreased (p0.01) from 62.55 to 44.13 % by NH3 treat
