The side-effects of deltamethrine-application in maize during late June-early Juli were studied in plots of 700 to 2000 square metre size in southwestern Germany during 1983 and 1985. Spiders, coccinellids and anthocorids were affected severely, syrphids suffered less. Predator populations increased again after 2 to 4 weeks, this was mostly due to immigration from outside.
