Fruit and seed quality of amargoso [Momordica charantia] as influenced by variety and priming [Philippines]
1984
Valdez, V.C.
Seed of Sta. Rita and Karela varieties of amargoso were obtained from the first, second, and third batch of harvested matured fruits. The weight of fruits, number of seed per fruit, and rate and percentage seed germination differed significantly between the two varieties. Sta. Rita produced heavier fruits and more seeds per fruit with better vigor rating and percentage germination than Karela. However, Karela seeds obtained at the third priming produced more fruits than the other treatment combinations. Weight per 100 seeds was not significantly affected by variety, priming, and interaction of the two factors.
