Morphological characteristics of dry pod and seed of selected accessions of winged bean [Philippines]

UPLB-IPB [University of the Philippines at Los Banos - Inst. of Plant Breeding] accession numbers 84 Tpt 6, 39, 110, 112, 115, 6 and 47 were used. The different accessions showed variations in seed color, hilum color and seed shape. Seed mottling was not observed in all the accessions. Differences in seed weight, length, width and thickness among the accessions were significant. Accession number 47 produced the heaviest and thickest seed while accession numbers 84 and Tpt 6 showed the longest and widest seed, respectively. The shortest, lightest and narrowest seed was produced by accession number 115 while the thinnest seed was from number 39
