The experiments were carried out on microplots on the following soil types: pseudopodzol 1, pseudopodzol 2, brown soil, black earth, alluvial soil, chernozem and low peat. In the irrigation treatment plants were watered when the water content in soil decreased below1368 70% of field capacity. The highest yield, irrespective of irrigation, was obtained on alluvial soil, chernozem and low peat. The highest yield increment was obtained under irrigation conditions on soils characterized by lower water capacity, such as brown soil, pseudopodzol, alluvial soil and black e
