Reproduction and meat traits of reciprocal ducks crosses from A-44 strain and conservative groups

Duck crosses from breeding strain A-44 maintained into c1780onservative group P-8 (imported from Danish Poultry Houses), P9 (imported from Jansen) and A-1 and A-2 (imported from Cherry Valley Farms) were characterized. Body weight at the age of 8 weeks, number of eggs, mortality and hatching results were evaluated for birds from parental stock. For crosses body weight at the age of 3 (920-996 g) and 8 (2550-2867 g) weeks, feed consumption per 1 kg of body weight (3861-4456 g), mortality (up to 2.5%) and tissue content was determined. It was no heterosis effects in ducks crosses compared to their parents. The best results were observed for AP48, AA14, AA41 and PA84 cro
