The horn samples from hooves of 49 stallions of 5 breeds were taken out at the end of their reproduction activity and were analysed for the content of crude protein, crude ash and of some macro- and trace elements. The significant differences between the horse breeds in iron, copper, calcium and manganese concentrations in hoof horn were stated.
