The share of extractive substances in examined oak and pine decreases in the direction from the pith towards the periphery and is the lowest at 2 m height. The share of extractive substances in wood increases with the height of stem. However above 20th annual ring the changes become irregular. The greatest share of extractive substances are in topwood.
