A study of the factors affecting adoption process for some improved methods and practices among cooperative farmers in Sharkhatt Nahia

The main objective of the present study is to identify the important factors affecting adoption process of improved methods and practices among cooperative farmers in Sharkhatt Nahia. Data were collected through personal interviews with each farmer. A sample of 80 cooperative farmers was selected. Thirteen variables have been selected for this study: Age, farmers education, family education, family size, social participation, coempolite, information sources attitude, income level of living, ability for change, farm size, family participation in farming. The respondents are classified into three groups according to the adoption level, the first group includes the farmers who have adoption level less than 12, they constitute 31%. The second group (12-18) constitutes 46.3%. And the third group (18 and more) constitutes 22.5% of the respondents. Simple correlation coefficients were used to identify the correlation relations between these thirteen variables and the level of adoption
