Four strains of T. evanescens were compared: TM: ecotype from ECB: TMM reared on ECB, TMS reared on Sitotroga cerealella. TK: ecotype from Mamestra brassicae: TKK reared on Mamestra, TKS reared on Sitotroga cerealella. Ecotype TM females parasitized - on the average - always more ECB eggs than ecotype TK females. Rearing on the substitute host Sitotroga modified this ecotype-specific parasitism capacity: it was in TMS left broken bracket and in TKS right broken bracket TKK. In dual-choice-tests each ecotype prefered its original host, independent of the host in which it had developed. In experiments with different host ages, offered together resp. separately, both ecotypes parasitized the youngest eggs best, but the 5 or 6 days old eggs were accepted, too
