The possibility of using NaCl as fertilizer for rubber and other crops
1984
Manurung, A.
A preliminary trial was conducted to investigate the possibility of using NaCl as fertilizer for rubber, paddy and corn. The results showed that to some extent, NaCl could be used to substitute KCl for manuring young rubber. It also seemed to stimulate the growth of young roots. As for paddy, NaCl application up to 5000 ppm increased the number of tillers and hastened the flowering initiation and grain ripening. It was also shown that NaCl was effective for increasing paddy yield when applied at 2500 ppm per pot. With regard to corn, NaCl application up to 4500 ppm per pot seemed to increase the number of its ears.
