A granulosis virus in larvae of Epinotia pygmaeana Hbn. (Lep., Tortricidae)

The first record of a granulosis virus in larvae of the small needle miner, Epinotia pygmaeana Hbn., is evidenced by electromicrographs. The granulosis was discovered during an outbreak in the southwestern Swiss Alps. According to a 1986 compilation, 153 insect species are worldwide known to be susceptible to the mentioned subgroup of virus diseases. Included in this number are 11 European species of harmful forest insects
