Before being dried, stevia leaves usually have to be separated from their stems. The separation of leaves from their stems by hand is tedious and costly. The weight fraction of the stems is only about 40 percent. An experiment on drying of stevia leaves and their stems without separation was carried out, considering that the additional cost of drying is lower than cost of separation. The drying experiment was done in air convection with a temperature showed that without plucking, stevia leaves and their stems required drying time longer than the leaves themselves. Drying time for stevia leaves, leaves and their stems, and stem of BPP 72 clone were 90, 105, and 120 minutes respectively to reach moisture content of 10 percent, while for those of BPP 74 clone were 75, 90, and 120 minutes respectively.
