Rebell(R) - the new herbicide in sugarbeets
1994
Klaassen, H. (BASF - Badische Anilin- und Soda-Fabrik A.G., Limburgerhof (Germany). Landwirtschaftliche Versuchsstation) | Menck, B.-H.
BASF have developed the new sugarbeet herbicide Rebell(R) based on the active ingredient combination Quinmerac and Chloridazon. Uptake is through the roots and leaves. Quinmerac is systemic and will be transported after postemergence treatments to the roots of sensitive weeds. The different modes of action of Quinmerac and Chloridazon in the plant's metabolism ensures a broad activity and optimal efficacy against all important sugarbeet weeds. Quinmerac works specifically against the difficult weeds Galium aparine and Aethusa cynapium which has in the last years become a particular problem in sugarbeet. Selectivity is also both in preemergence and postemergence excellent. Particularly reliable is a pre/postemergence programme or a repeated postemergence programme for example with Betanal at the cotyledon stage of the weeds
