Effect of air pollution on carbohydrate and nutrients contents on some deciduous tree species

إنجليزي. The nutrient supply of the leaves as far as the levels on total soluble sugars and starch during the growing season was examined at four tree species (Ailanthus glandulosa, Carpinus beltulus, Tilia argentea and Quercus cerris), located as natural 15 year old stands in the region with considerable industrial emmissions and in unpolluted land. Significant decrease in the levels of starch, total and soluble sugars was established in the polluted regions. A high accumulation of heavy metals (better expressed at the end of the growing season) was registrated. The changes in the content of macro and micro-nutrients in leaves were specific at different tree species studied

L'approvvigionamento nutritivo delle foglie ed i livelli degli zuccheri, solubili e totali, nonche di amido e stato esaminato durante la stagione vegetativa in quattro specie arboree (Ailanthus glandulosa, Carpinus betulus, Tilia argentea, Quercus cerris), cresciute in popolamenti naturali di 15 anni, in una regione con rilevanti emissioni industriali e in una zona non inquinata. Una diminuzione significativa dei livelli di amido e degli zuccheri solubili e totali e stata riscontrata nelle zone inquinate. E stato riscontrato un forte accumulo di metalli pesanti (piu evidente al termine della staione vegetativa). I cambiamenti nel contenuto di macro e micro-elementi nelle foglie sono risultati specifici delle diverse specie di alberi studiate
