[Introduction of early ripening cultivars of vine in Piedmont within the rationalization of plants]

The performances of "Pinot bianco", "Pinot grigio", "Muller Thurgau", "Riesling italico", and "Chardonnay" grafted on "Cosmo 2", "Kober 5 BB", "SO4", "420A" and "1103P" have been evaluated in a five years trial on early ripening cultivars. All the above mentioned rootstocks seem to be well suited to the five cultivars considered. In particular "Riesling italico", "Muller Thurgau", "Chardonnay" and "Pinot Bianco" grafted on SO4 and "Pinot grigio" on "Cosmo 2" gave high production of satisfactory quality. The "Muller Thurgau" was the most productive among all the cultivars tested and the leaves of all the vines grafted on "1103 P" had high magnesium content

Nell'ambito di una prova quinquennale sull'introduzione di vitigni a maturazione precoce in Piemonte, si e' valutato il comportamento di cinque cultivar ("Pinot bianco", "Pinot grigio", "Muller Thurgau", "Riesling italico" e "Chardonnay") innestate su "Cosmo 2", "Kober 5 BB", SO4, "420A" e "1103 P". Tutte le combinazioni d'innesto consentono di raggiungere una buona e precoce maturazione. Per "Riesling italico", "Muller Thurgau", "Chardonnay" e "Pinot bianco" l'"SO4" ha consentito di abbinare abbondante produzione a buona qualita', mentre per il "Pinot grigio" tale effetto si e' avuto col "Cosmo 2". Il "Muller Thurgau" si conferma vitigno molto produttivo e il "1103 P" portinnesto che induce maggior contenuto fogliare di magnesio
