Irrigation influence on growth and ripening of "Nuragus" grape-vine variety

إنجليزي. During a two-year experiment on irrigation effect on grapevine, the average spring and summer rainfall resulted 28% higher than during the same period of the previous 30 years. The experiment was carried out in an experimental block of "Nuragus" grapevine variety, grown in a clayey soil and trained as Guyot system. The results have shown that all the irrigation treatments resulted in higher yields and better must quality in comparison to non irrigated control. In particular when the soil water potential was maintained over - 0.04 M Pa by using 110 mm of seasonal water, and also when only half of the water was used, there was a yield increase of the 20%. The highest water amount produced grapes with more balanced must quality, resulting in a decrease of TSS and an increase of Total Acidity content. Furthermore tartaric/malic acid ratio was halved in irrigation treatments (mostly in those with larger water amounts) in comparison to the control

Il biennio di esperienza (peraltro coinciso con una pluviometria superiore del 28% alla media trentennale) sull'irrigazione del vitigno ad uva bianca "Nuragus", allevato a Guyot semplice su terreno argilloso, ha evidenziato, nei confronti del controllo, da un lato un aumento ponderale del materiale di risulta della potatura (da + 14 a + 23% in funzione del volume irriguo e delle fasi fenologiche in cui si e' operato), dall'altro incrementi produttivi non inferiori al 20%. Quest'ultimo risultato si otteneva sia con il mantenimento del potenziale matriciale al di sopra di - 0.04 M Pa che in presenza di volumi idrici dimezzati; nel primo caso il fabbisogno irriguo e' risultato di mm 110. L'irrigazione ad alti volumi, pero', ha fornito mosti piu' equilibrati nel rapporto glucidi/acidita' totale (riducendo del 5% i primi e incrementando del 27% la seconda) e in quello tra l'acido tartarico e il malico (valori pressoche' dimezzati rispetto al controllo)
