In two years, later sowing reduced oil content and increased glucosinolate content, with July-September sowings exceeding the Canola standard; this was primarily due to the increased content of 2-hydroxybut-3-enyl glucosinolate (progoitrin). The proportion of erucic acid in the oil was unaffected.
