The result of a study on some physical and chemical properties of tannin extractives from Acacia mangium bark prepared using extraction method is presented in this paper. The bark used for extraction varies from 2-80 mesh, under two different temperatures, namely 60 degree C and 80 degree C. The result shows that the yield of tannin extractives ranges from 28.72-33.69 percent, tannin content from 47.38-55.22 percent, condensed tannin from 35.38-54.53 percent, moisture content from 7.55-12.62 percent, ash content from 0.99-1.75 percent, phenol from 0.32-0.43 percent, tannin content residue from 0.48-1.79 percent, alkali from 0.55-0.84 percent, metoxil from 13.45-15.35 percent, solubility in cold water from 0.977-0.979 percent tannin/g solvent, equivalent weight from 2142.91-2719.96, carbohydrate from 7.93-8.78 percent and tannic acid from 10.93-11.56 percent.
