This report deals with observation on flying foxes at the Bogor Botanical Gardens regarding their population and roosting trees preference and their problems. It was conducted in 1987 at two concentrated areas distributed in 85 hectars of the Botanical Garden Complex. The population estimate was calculated from "direct individual count" following Overton Formula (1977). Roosting trees accounts denoted 19 trees of 6 plant species, notably Spondias was the most prefered. The population ranged from 599 to 2008 individuals, which tended gradually lower down if compared to the previous population estimates.
