Radio tracking showed that dogs move a maximum distance of 11.2 km daily; it is suggested that control programmes could be limited to a 20 kg zone adjacent to grazing lands. Trial-baiting trials with the poison were of low efficacy despite the sensitivity of dogs to it. Reasons were a rapid loss of toxicity, removal of bait by foxes and birds, and the dogs' preference for natural prey.
