Status of bacterial wilt of potato in Kenya. [Conference paper]
1993
Ajanga, S. (Kakamega Regional Research Centre (Kenya))
In Kenya, bacterial wilt occurs in the lowlands, rarely found above 2100 m altitude. Seed production and certification is carried out at high elevation. All the varieties are susceptible to bacterial wilt. A 2-year rotation of potatoes and pasture is effective in controlling the disease. However, certified seed is expensive, and good management practices are difficult on small farms, so that yields are generally low.
