Effect of refining variations and bleaching on the characteristics of tucum (Astrocaryum vulgare Mart) pulp oil

إنجليزي. The effects of refining variations followed by bleaching on the quality of the pulp oil of the Tucum (A. vulgare) palm fruit were determined. Conditions found most effective for refining were prior degumming with 0.2% phosphoric acid and 2% distilled water, triple treatment at 65 deg C for 15 min using 16 deg Be and 20 deg Be NaOH at 80% of maximum and 20 deg Be NaOH at the maximum, followed by bleaching at 105 deg C with a mixture of activated bleaching earth (2%) and activated carbon (0.2%). Oil processed under these conditions gave the following analytical values: carotenoid 14.7 mg/kg oil, free fatty acid 0.28%, peroxides 10 meq/kg oil, conjugated dienoic and trienoic acids 0.80 and 0.01% respectively and Lovibond colour 2Y. Processing had little effect on the fatty acid composition of the oil

إيطالي. Vengono studiati gli effetti delle variazioni nel processo di raffinazione seguito da sbianca sulla qualita' dell'olio della polpa di palma Tucum (A. vulgare). Si e' notato che le condizioni migliori per la raffinazione sono una prima demucillaginazione con 0.2% di acido fosforico e 2% di acqua distillata, triplo trattamento a 65 gradi C per 15 minuti con NaOH 16 gradi Be all'80% massimo e 20 gradi Be, seguito da sbianca a 105 gradi C con una miscela di terra attiva (2%) e carbone attivo (0.2%). L'olio trattato in queste condizioni presenta i seguenti valori: carotenoidi 14.7 mg/kg olio, acidi grassi liberi 0.28%, perossidi 10 meq/kg olio, acidi dienici e trienici coniugati 0.80 e 0.01% rispettivamente, colore Lovibond QY. Il trattamento ha una leggera influenza sulla composizione acidica dell'olio
