Effect of high levels of dietary urea on performance of dairy goats. 1: Production and quality of milk

إنجليزي. The aim of this trial was to evaluate the effect of dietary urea supplying on performance of dairy goats. Two compound feeds were formulated: the first with traditional protein sources (U0) and the second with 30% of N supplied by urea (U30). Twenty goats (B.W. 38.7+-7.3 kg) were fed for ad lib. intake isoenergetic and isonitrogenous diets containing the compound feeds and grass hay (F:C = 20:80, CP = 18.8 and NDF = 32.4 %dm). Milk production, protein, casein, lactose and ureic-N content from goats fed the two diets were similar. Fat content of milk from goats fed U30 was lower than that of milk from UO goats (2.78 vs 2.46%; P0.10). The use of urea improved slightly renneting parameters of milk. In conclusion use of urea in dairy goats diets, at higher levels than those used in other species, does not appear to affect milk production and quality

إيطالي. E' stata condotta una prova allo scopo di valutare l'effetto dell'inclusione del 2.1% di urea in mangimi destinati a capre in lattazione. Venti capre (P.V. 38.7+-7.3 kg) sono state alimentate con diete isoenergetiche e isoproteiche (F:C = 20:80, PG = 18.8 e NDF = 32.4 %ss), somministrate ad lib. e costituite da fieno polifita e da uno dei 2 mangimi appositamente formulati: U0 (100% dell'N da fonti proteiche tradizionali) e U30 (30% dell'N da urea). La produzione di latte, i contenuti in proteina, caseina, lattosio e N-ureico non sono stati influenzati dalla dieta, mentre il tenore in grasso e' risultato piu' basso nella dieta U30 (2.78 vs 2.46%; P0.10). L'impiego di urea ha determinato un tendenziale miglioramento delle caratteristiche di caseificazione del latte. L'inclusione di urea nelle diete per capre in lattazione, anche a livelli superiori rispetto a quelli utilizzati in altre specie, non sembra presentare particolari controindicazioni per quanto riguarda le caratteristiche quanti-qualitative del latte
