Gas exchanges - yield and yield quality of snap bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) as affected by irrigation regime and harvest form in greenhouse [Campania]

Two watering frequencies (13, every 3 days, and 17, every 7 days) and four harvest forms (gradual harvest; single harvest after one day from the first gradual harvest, or after two days, or after three days) were factorially compared on greenhouse snap bean. Waterings were 14 and 7 and irrigation volumes were 2800 and 1400 cube m/ha, respectively in 13 and 17 treatments. Net photosynthesis rate, stomatal conductance, transpiration rate and leaf water potential decreased before irrigation only in 17 treatment. Higher yield (+17%) and higher percentage of extra-thin pods were obtained from irrigation every 3 days. Gradual harvest gave better yield and qualitative results, with an increase of the percentage of pods of lower classes (extra-thin and thinnest)
