This study tour was undertaken to visit a number of research centres involved in temperate fruit tree research in West Virginia, New York State, Indiana, Washington and British Columbia, and to discuss relevant research with the staff at these centres. A further objective was to arrange for the exchange of useful germplasm with centres involved in pome fruit breeding.
