Physical treatment of full fat soybean. Use of raw, flaked and extruded full fat soybean in feeding growing sheep

Four isonitrogenous diets (CP = 14.6%) based on beet pulp and hay were supplemented with different soybean products: a. soybean meal, b. raw full fat soybean, c. flaked full fat soybean and d. extruded full fat soybean. Each diet was fed ad libitum to a group of 5 ewe lambs obtained by a balanced allocation of 20 animals according to genetic type, parity and live weight. Individual weight gain, feed intake and conversion index of the ration were recorded for animal live weight ranging between 16.5 and 34 kg. At an average live weight of 31 kg, the in vivo digestibility of the diets was estimated and the nitrogen balance of the sheep was calculated by total urine collection. The diets gave similar values for daily weight gain, DM intake and conversion, which were respectively 161 g/d, 828 g/d and 5.1 on average. The oil did not negatively affect fibre digestibility increasing that of the ether extract and the nutritive value of the diets. The lambs fed raw soybean had a higher urinary N excretion. The use of full fat soybean products in diets with fat content lower than 6% of the total DM did not show effects which could limit their use in the rationing of young ewe lambs

Sono state formulate 4 diete isoproteiche (PG = 14.6% SS) a base di polpe di bietola e fieno che differivano per il tipo di soia impiegata: a. farina di estrazione, b. seme integrale crudo, c. seme integrale fioccato e d. seme integrale estruso. Ogni razione e' stata somministrata ad libitum ad un gruppo di 5 agnelle ottenuto ripartendo 20 soggetti coetanei in base al genotipo, al tipo di parto e al peso vivo. I rilievi hanno considerato l'accrescimento, il consumo alimentare e la conversione delle razioni nell'intervallo di peso compreso tra i 16.5 e i 34 kg. Ad un peso medio di 31 kg, e' stata eseguita una prova di digeribilita' e un bilancio azotato. Le diete hanno fornito valori simili di accrescimento, consumo e conversione della SS, mediamente pari a 161 g/d, 828 g/d e 5.1. La frazione oleosa della soia non ha influenzato negativamente la digeribilita' della fibra e ha elevato quella degli estratti eterei, aumentando il valore nutritivo delle razioni
