1996
Koutnik, V. (Mendelova Zemedelska a Lesnicka Univ., Brno (Czech Republic))
Regions of traditional potato production in the Czech-Moravian Highlands [Czech Republic] were chosen to meet the purpose of the study. Each variety of potatoes planted at a plot of the given locality was accompanied by sampling of the typical soil of that region. The selenium content in soils and potato tubers of potatoes was determined. The samples of potato tubers taken from the different areas contained the average concentrations of selenium in fresh mass from 12 to 86 micro g.kg-1. The samples of soils showed the results from 90 to 278 micro g.kg-1 dry matter. The analysed content in tubers of potatoes appears to be insufficient.
