Gasket and stainless steel surface sanitation: environmental parameters affecting bacterial attachment [to Buna-n and Teflon; Pseudomonas fluorescens]
1990
Czechowski, M.H. (Diversey Australasia Pty Ltd, Seven Hills (Australia))
The common food spoilage organism Pseudomonas fluorescens was found to attach readily from milk to materials (Buna-n, Teflon and stainless steel) used in food processing equipment. Attachment is rapid and provides bacterial reservoirs for contamination of milk. Cleaning and sanitizing is therefore important.
