Reduction of humidity and oil content of olive husk obtained by two phase decanter

إنجليزي. The objectives of the present research work were to develop a system for the reduction of water and oil content of the olive husk obtained by a two phase centrifugation system. A number of experiments was carried out using a continuous horizontal screw press, a continuous horizontal bandpress and a two phase decanter. Furthermore, trials were carried out for olive oil extraction using a three phase decanter operating without the addition of water for paste dilution. The results obtained indicated that the horizontal presses can reduce the water content of the husk from 10 to 40% depending on the operating conditions. The two phase decanter reduced the oil content of husk about 50% but the moisture remained at the same levels. The use of the three phases decanter operating without the addition of water gave promising results as an extraction method, but needs further investigation. Sono state effettuate delle prove sperimentali con presse continue, decantatore a due fasi e decantatore a tre fasi senza aggiunta di acqua, al fine di ottenere una diminuzione del contenuto di umidita' e dell'olio nella sansa prodotta da un decantatore a due fasi. I risultati ottenuti dalle prove eseguite hanno evidenziato che le presse continue possono ridurre l'umidita' e l'olio dal 10 al 40%, a seconda delle condizioni di funzionamento delle presse. La centrifugazione della sansa in un decantatore a due fasi ha prodotto una diminuzione del contenuto di olio del 50% circa rispetto a quello iniziale, mentre l'umidita' e' rimasta agli stessi livelli. Trattando le olive con un decantatore a tre fasi senza aggiunta dell'acqua di diluizione della pasta, si e' riusciti a ridurre l'umidita' della sansa prodotta del 5% rispetto a quella ottenuta con il decantatore a due fasi, mentre il contenuto di olio nella sansa e' rimasto agli stessi livelli di quello ottenuto con il decantatore a due fasi
