In vivo electrotransfection. Transient GUS [beta-glucuronidase] expression in ornamentals

إنجليزي. The present work reports preliminary results of transient GUS gene expression in axillary shoots of ornamental species through electrophoretic transfection. Axillary meristems of carnation, chrysanthemum and lisianthus were in vivo electrophoresed with constant currents of 0.2 to 1.0 mA for 3 to 10 min. About 50% of the treated shoots survived and about 50% of them showed transient GUS expression. The electrophoretic transfection proved to be an efficient method for in vivo introduction of foreign DNA into plant meristems

[Il presente lavoro descrive i risultati preliminari relativi all'espressione del gene GUS transiente nei germogli ascellari di specie ornamentali mediante transfezione elettroforetica. Sono stati sottoposti a elettroforesi in vivo, con correnti costanti da 0.2 a 1.0 mA da 3 a 10 minuti, meristemi ascellari di garofano, crisantemo e lisianthus. Circa il 50% dei germogli trattati e' sopravissuto e circa la meta' di questi ultimi presentava l'espressione del gene GUS transiente.
