Secondary tree species of forest stands in synecological and autecological point of view
1995
Robic, D. (Ljubljana Univ. (Slovenia). Biotechnical Fac., Forestry Dept.)
Analyses of a number (786) of phytocoenological releves from preserved and transformed beech forests on limestone and dolomite parent soil material in Slovenia indicates statistically significant dependence between tree species number and altitude, changed and unchanged state of forest stand composition and structure, phytogeographical distribution of releves and degree of crown cover. Relativity of choice of secondary tree species is emphasized, because the majority of tree species can take different roles in forest ecosystem.
