The theoretical nature is discussed of the problem for elaborating and using a mathematical model in predicting the results from the breeding material and the industrial hybridization of silk worm. A mathematical model for assessing the breeding indices of hybrid progenies was used in the complex evaluation of the initial forms. It was found that the elaborated mathematical model for prognosis of the potential abilities of silk worm hybrid progenies, contributed for selecting the most promising among the great number of possible combinations, both as initial material and for direct use in industrial hybridization.
