Effects of fields with high application rates of slurry in the new territories of Federal Republic of Germany to soils and waters and development of measures to decrease the environmental loads that are caused by it

Fields with high application rates on slurry (FHRS) are caracterics by excessive contents of soluble nitrogen (Nmin) and phosporus, that is soluble with double lactat (P(DL)) in the soil. In FHRS is the content of phosphorus (P(DL)) in the soil layer 0..3 dm larger then 120 mg/kg and the content of nitrogen (Nmin) in the layer of 1..10 m larger then 1500 kg/ha. The estimation of endangerement of FHRS is an multistage procedure. In a first step FHRS is located by means of available information and her potential endangerement is evaluated. These landscape ecological evaluation are summarized in a discrete number of evaluation. The rate of load have to be find out by means of calculatet nutrient excess by using available firming statistics. The number of evaluation and the rate of load are used to fix the preferences of direct investigation. A minimal investigation program was developed for the reliable proof of FHRS, that consists of soil chemical investigations and the analyses of spontan vegetation. Limits to redevelopment of FHRS are established to valuate the investigations. The proposed redevelopment measures concern only the rootable soil. These procedures are tested successfully under field conditions on five FHRS in the new territories of Federal Republic of Germany
