Information on cultural practices of strawberry under Indonesia condition is almost not available. This experiment which was carried out in Sukabumi at about 1100 m asl and was aimed to find out the relationship between plant spacing and the ability of strawberry to produce fruit, is a starting point to collect information on cultural practices. A Randomized Complete Block Design with three replicates was applied. The treatment was plant spacing as follows : 30 cm x 35 cm, 30 cm x 40 cm, 35 cm x 45 cm, 35 cm x 35 cm, 35 x 40 cm, 35 x 45 cm and 40 cm x 45 cm. The result showed that closer plant spacing was better than farther plant spacing. Under dry condition close plant spacing (high light interception) was able to retain the soil humidity. Strawberry which was planted at 30 x 25 cm plant spacing gave better growth in terms of low mortality, high number of plant/hill, high number of stems/hill, high number of leaves/hill, high number of clusters/hill, high number of flowers/hill and high number of fruit setting/hill. The yield of strawberry planted at 30 x 25 cm was the highest
