Study on the natural spawning and larval rearing of grouper had been conducted in 30 cubic m concrete tanks using 9 pairs of spawners. The spawners were fed with sardines, squids and skipjack meat. Spontaneous spawning occurred every 11 to 14 days after full moon. Approximately 171,000 and 6,962,000 fertilized eggs were produced. Fertilizing rate ranged between 87 and 99 percent. Hatching rate ranged between 38 and 87 percent. The total length of newly hatched larvae was 1.59 mm. The larvae were fed with rotifer-fed-chlorella and wild zooplankton collected from the sea. The relative growth (in terms of total length) within 10 and 35 days culture period were 0.7 and 5.4 percent, respectively
