Intensive calf production - a management approach
1980
Osuji, P.O. (Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Inst., St Augustine (Trinidad and Tobago))
Implications of intensive calf production for the farmer: This paper has emphasized the approach to managing large numbers of calves intensively. However the principles of feeding and management elaborated here would also apply to any size calf operation. Therefore it is not necessary for the farmer to be a specialist calf operator to adopt the practices advocated. Regardless of size of operation, type of housing etc strict adherence to sanitation, proper feeding and management are pre-requisited to the successful rearing of calves either for heifer replacement or for intensive beef operations.
