[Soil weathering potential of two savanna landscapes of Guarico State]

In six soils of two savanna landscapes from Guarico State, the weathering potential indices of REICHE were determined. It was found that the studied soils have weathering potential equivalent to resistant minerals. As a consequence in those soils very stable minerals dominate and the synthesis and decomposition processes have actuated very strongly on both soils group, tending to homogenize them from the chemical and mineralogical point of view. Spite of high homogeneity of indices, it is possible to appreciate that the Oficina soils are more stable to weathering than the Coluvial soils. It is explained by the texture and the mineralogy.
