The field experiments were conducted to evaluate the influence of preemergence treatment on the yield and 1000-seed weight in chickpea. Chlorbromuron applied alone gave the best weed control of the present broadleaved weeds (98 %) with no phytotoxicity symptoms during the whole growing season. Moderate phytotoxicity occurred with the mixture of terbutryne + terbutylazine + clomazone, with slight leaf damage that disappeared in few days. From the point of yield we found out significant differences with preemergent application of chlorbromuron alone or in supplement with mechanical treatment or at variant with application of chlorbromuron alone as well as at the variant with supplemental mechanical treatment or by application mixture of terbutryne + terbutylazine + clomazone. Weather had negative impact on the yield of chickpea. The effect of variant on the yield was not statistically significant. The highest yield was found out at the variant with mechanical treatment. Difference in yield among years was statistically highly significant. The effect of variants on 1000-seed weight was without statistical significance.
