Anthelmintic efficacy and safety of nitroscanate (LOPATOL 100 AND LOPATOL 500) in naturally infected domestic cats and captive wild felids

LOPATOL 100 or 500 were administered to 67 domestic cats and 13 wild felids kept in zoological gardens infected naturally by Toxocara cati, Toxascaris leonina, Trichuris vulpis, Dipylidium caninum or Taenia spp. The animals were fed approx. 15 min before oral administration of a single dose of 50 mg per kg live weight as recommended by the manufacturer for the treatment of dogs. The efficacy was 99.3 %. 99.2 %, 100 % and 100 % in animals infected by Toxocara cati, Dipylidium caninum, Toxascaris leonina and Trichuris vulpis, respectively.
