Mycoparasitic fungus Pythium oligandrum was tested in dual cultures with individual strains of the phytopathogenic fungi Ophiostoma sp. which are the cause of tracheomycosis in forest trees. The individual strains of Ophiostoma sp. showed the different ability to produce inhibitory substances and to create the inhibition zones between P. oligandrum - mycoparasite and Ophiostoma sp. colonies. Three tested strains of Ophiostoma sp. from the four created only the narrow inhibition zone. The strain of Ophiostoma sp. which created the very large inhibition zone, reduced also the fructification of P. oligandrum growing in mycelium of Ophiostoma sp. and the fungus P. oligandrum created oospores later compared with variants where tested strains of Ophiostoma sp. made only the small inhibition zones.
