[Protecting the outer river bank by using water permeable groyne in Java (Indonesia)]

In general, to protect the outer river bend that is easily eroded, is by the groyne on which the hydrodynamic pressure is active to attack the river bank so that the local scouring and erosion are occured at the foot of bank. If the case is not immediately overcome, it will endanger to the buildings in surrounding the river bank. In order that the function of groyne as bank protection can be optimally used, so the investigation and research are necessarily done to support the placing plan of groyne. From the several investigations by groyne, it is found how far at the outer river bend, hydrodynamic water pressure actively attack correlation to the groyne design criteria in the river
